Intro.
Ever since the days of the BBFC coming into existence in my home country of the UK. Censorship has been a hot topic of discussions for over six decades at this point. Case and point in 1972 A Clockwork Orange was removed from cinemas in the UK due to the fears of copycat violence, a year after the film was released at the request of the director Stanley kubrick. Now I know what you’re thinking what has this got to do with WWE, well it’s the idea of company being told to censor itself. WWE has been criticized over the past few months for not showing blood on screen. I think this has something to do with TV streaming standards in other countries when you think about it. In the UK we have Ofcom who look over all forms of broadcasting standards. Different streaming platforms will have there own standards. It’s just how it is guys. This is what the WWE are doing, censoring themselves.
The Bloodline Get Decked.
The show started off with Royce Keys and his new mates Bronco, and. Price wrecking The Bloodline. This when the Censorship was heavily noted, and i’m going to be honest. I think that WWE are censoring themselves. This is like I said earlier. Netflix are asking WWE to censor themselves. This is would explain why the blood on Jimmy and Jey Uso’s faces was blurred out. Also this show was per-taped, so WWE had time to make vital editorial cuts. Jacob Fatu showed up late, how convenient.
Sol Ruca vs Raquel Rodriguez WWE Womens Intercontinental Championship.
This was decent. Jacob fatu tried to hijack this Match in the early stages, and we got even more censorship, because his naughty swear also got cut. Jacob was escorted out by security. The Match was a predictable, run through that if i’m being was boring. Raquel got the win, after interference from Lyra Valkyria, and. Roxanne Perez, and. Liv Morgan. This did nothing for me.
WWE Superstar Arrivals
Penta, and his brother Rey Fenix were seen showing to the arena before their epic main event later in this show. I can’t wait to review it.
Chad Gable Segment.
I have to say it. I like what WWE are doing with Chad Gable. It feels a bit different, and fresh. I get why WWE are booking him this way. Chad spoke with pride about his love for the WWE IC Championship, and asked Dragon Lee to come out, because he’s next in line, this annoyed Ethan Page, who then had a minor promo dual with Lee, and. Gable. This led to an impromptu Match, and the winner would face Chad in Mexico City. Ethan Page vs Dragon Lee was excellent, and a fantastic audition piece for how WWE should be looking to book Chads future opponents.
Roman Reigns Segment.
I felt like I was having a fever dream. roman reigns was coming out in the middle of WWE Monday Night Raw, and in the words of Mr Meseeks. This felt weird. Roman was seen beforehand telling Jacob that he should deal with Royce Keys, and he would deal with other things, and those other things were LA Knight, and Solo Sikoa. MJF are you watching, because Roman said that he’s the one true Champion, and The Tribal Chief, this led onto to him talking about Solo Sikoa. Roman wants Solo to look up to him, and not Dwayne. This was when LA Knight came out, and this promo fell apart. LA Words felt a bit forced, and it was clear by the look on his face. It was here when the camera went to the back, and Solo had been laid out by Jacob Fatu. Knight went to make the save, but ended getting superman punched by Roman after he had just stepped out his Bill And Ted styled phonebox. This promo was a mixed-bag. Jacob is behind all of this. Think about it people.
Dirty Dominik Mysterio vs Jevon Evans And Impromptu Tag Team Match.
This Match got thrown out due to Jd Mcdonagh getting involved. A beatdown then insued, and out came Joe Hendry. Did anyone say his name? No, oh so it was just me then. Adam Pearce stormed out like an angry uncle at a wedding, and made this a tag match. Dirty Dom and JD Mcdonagh, beat Jevon Evans and. Joe Hendry in what was a flat TV Match.
Becky Lynch And Stephanie Vaquer Segment.
Am I the only person who wants to see Becky Lynch, and Stephanie Vaquer to become a Tag Team, after they’re done battering each other.
Bron Breakker And Oba Femi Hype Video.
When WWE do hype videos. No one does them better. This was execellent. Paul Heyman was backstage talking to Kathy Kelley, and you know what? I think were getting a turn at SNME. That’s not a spoiler, that’s a fact.
The Bloodline Are In The Hospital.
Joe Tessatore then told us that Solo Sikoa, and The Usos have been taken a local medical facility. So not a hospital then.
Penta vs Rey Fenix No1 Contenders Tournament.
I loved this main event. It felt fresh and vital. I’m not going to lie, this Match has had me stomped, because this told one hell of a great story. The timing was superd, as it blended into the physicality perfectly. This is what the term fighting spirit means. Penta got the win, and had a fantastic stairdown against Roman Reigns. This was awesome.
Overview Of This Weeks WWE Monday Night Raw.
With Netflix causing WWE to Censor to themselves, and me getting over a rather big AEW All In sized hangover. I felt that this broadcast suffered from being a mix-bag. The in-ring work went from poor to great, whilst WWE playing mr scissors acted like a director censoring there own work. This weeks WWE Monday Night Raw was good, but at what cost?
This Weeks WWE Monday Night Raw Is a middle of the road 6/10.
