Intro.
Let this lesson be known, it’s never wise to go around telling lies, and if you’re a fighter working for the worlds biggest fight organisations, then then this can be especially quite damaging. Over the years many UFC fighters have been caught lying, and on this list we going to put a microscope under these said fib tellers, so go and get a snack, sit back, and enjoy because is the MMA junkie going through the 5 five UFC Fighters Who Were Caught In A Lie.
5. Tito Ortiz.
The Proclaimed Huntington Beach Bad Boy is known for a lot of things. Having a solid ground-game, working hard, losin hard, and according to Chuck liddell, being a known liar liar pants on fire. In 2010 the pair were put together as Coaches of season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter. Chuck said to the viewers at home Tito had made a story about him stating that in September of 2009 Dana White had a intervention with Chuck, saying that he was concerned about his health due to drinking, which is why he had lost some fights. White has denied this in the past, and Chuck has said that even though he liked to drink as a way of celebrating a win, he wasn’t an alcoholic. I can see that from both Chuck and Dana’s side, however given the fact that Tito has a well documented history being around people who’ve suffered with addiction issues, he really should’ve engaged his brain before he spoke.
4. Connor Mcgreggors 2015 Earnings.
If you asked if I like the country Ireland. I would say yes. But if you asked me do I like Guinness I would have to say yes, which would be a lie because I find that drink a bit too dark tasting for my liking. Connor Mcgreggor is one of Irelands biggest known exports, and is one of UFC’s most marketable fighters, and ion 2016 he was at the height of his fame, and heading into his fight against Eddie ASlvarez at UFC 205, he was seen boasting about his wealth at the press conference announing the fight in early September of that year, stating that he’s on his way to making 40 million that year, this was taken to task by Forbes magazine who estimated his earnings as 22 million. So even the big names can be big fat wealthy liars.
3. Kris Cyborg.
This one is a little bit of he said she said, that comes with the caviat of alledged doctored video footage. After her fight Kris Cyborg she posted a backstage video accusing the UFC of bullying and bad promotional skills. This angered dana White who then went on to Publicly slam Kris. He said in an 2019 in that both parties were unhappy, so letting her go was the best. I think this one was a bit difficult to call, and if Kris has lied, then this could be seen as very damaging.
2.Colby Covington.
Accusations are thing of parody these days, especially when you look at memes. colby Covington is the definition of the child crying meme. let me explain why. In mid 2019 he accused Dana White of Promising him the next Welterweight title shot against Tyrone woodley, instead it was given to Kamaru Usman. Many analysts have questioned this, because this type of talk could be used to hype his bab boy persona, and that might be true, because Tito Ortiz has had some of the accusations over the years.
1. Jon Jones White-house Card Placement.
When you take a look at the career of Jon Jones, there’s two ways of looking at him. On one hand he’s a gifted fighter, and on the otherside he’s a complex controversial human being, with many misdemenors to his name. I could talk about his many failed drug tests, or the accusations of dui, but i’m going to clear up the story around him and Dana white and the UFC 250 card. Jones claimed in the early part of this year that he was active negotiations to have a featured fight with a high payout. This was then thrown out as Dana White said that this was a lie, and that he has spoken to Jones lawyer, telling him that this fight was never going to happen. Fans online have sided with White, as Jones looks like he’s playing the victim card. This is my thoughts. Both men are known to have bended the truth throughout their careers, so this is were things get messy. Tito Ortiz has accused Dana White of lying multiple times over the years, and as for Jones he’s pulled the retirement card several times over the years.
Overview of This Piece.
As a fan of MMA for nearly 20 years of my life. I find these stories fascinating, so delving into is a joy. Look we all love a bit of derived controversy, because it’s actually entertaining. Us as human beings we get used to this, as entertainment is used as a routine for people coming together. How many fans have been pulled into these type of conversations. Like I said before as a fan of this great sport for the best part of twenty years, Lies. Greed, and overall saturation is what pulls us towards certain fighters, and fights. This is the world of combat sports people, it’s in our DNA. We know it. We Like it. And we all thrive from, because if we don’t then what does that say about us as fans? This is the fascicle side of the industry that doesn’t get spoken about, and it’s entertainment at it’s very best.
