Intro.

As the Summer comes to a close, and September starts to loom, this is the period of time when the UFC starts to deliver with stellar fights, that Make UFC Fighter rankings look very interesting. For example in October when the UFC heads to Abu Dhabi in October Alexander Volkanofsky will defend his Featherweight Championship against Artem Evloev in the main event of UFC 332, supported by a steller line up on the undercard. This is why I love MMA.

Ebson Barboza vs Esteban Ribovics UFC Lightweight Division.

If you could bottle up what a fight means to a fighter, then you would be a millionaire. Ebson was an emotional sight from the word go, whilst his opponent looked confident. I remember years ago reading an interview with Ebson in fighters only magazine, and he was a standout guy who acted and answered questions with class. This is how a fighter should go out. with class. The first round Ebson suffered a nasty looking leg injury, that became the main story-line of the fight. In the second round Ebson had slowed down considerably, and when Esteban poured on the pressure with his Kickboxing, he wasn’t defending himself properly, which prompted Herb Dean to make the right call and stop the fight. Edson left his gloves in the ring, as he cried with his family. Ebson will go down as one of the most underrated UFC Fighters, to never become a champion. Godspeed Ebson.

Dustin Stoltzfus vs Mansoor Abdul Malik UFC Middleweight Division.

This fight on paper looked interesting from a fans perspective. It was the classic case of Grappler vs Striker. Round one was a very even affair, and it played out the way I thought it would. The second round saw Dustin pull away, and get the win with his superior Jiu Jitsu skills, and pulling him into a rear naked choke. This result didn’t surprise me, because dustin is trained by the guys at Extreme Couture, who are known to execellent amazing Jiu Jitsu coaches.

Jalin Turner vs Kaue Hernandez UFC Lightweight Division.

This fight was over in seconds, because Jalin put a onslaught of punches on Hernandez. Man this guy is starting to look right a real contender.

Mackenzie Dern vs Gillian Robertson UFC Womens Straw weight Championship.

I don’t know what to tell you guys. This fight was boring. I like Mackenzie Dern, but this permance was a dragged out existance that should’ve ended after the first round. Gillian Robertson looked out of her depth, as the class in both ladies showed. Gillian looked stoic, whilst Mackenzie dominated 4 of the 5 rounds. Mackenzie retained, now lets get her some real competition.

Islam Mackhachev vs Ian Machado Garry UFC Welterweight Championship.

I recently had a discussion with a friend of mine about who’s the best fighter in the UFC, and he said Ian Machado Garry, and I couldn’t disagree more. Ian is a very onesided fighter who’s terrible on the ground. Ian only won one of the five rounds in my opinion, as Islam put on a Groundgame clinic that needs to be studied. Islam retained. This fight was very disapointing, and a real predictable letdown.

Overview Of UFC 330.

This UFC PPV was a far cry from what us as fans are used to. This was a mixed-bag of a PPV from great performances, all the way to the Co Main Events that have left fans divided. I’ve seen better, and the UFC can do much better.

UFC 330 is by UFC Standards 7/10.
