WWE Summerslam 2026 Night One Breakdown

Raw Analysys. Poor Showing Overall.

Intro.

At the time of writing i’m currently feeling a bit haizy due to the fact that I went to bed at 215am after watching WWE Summerslam Night Two. And after watching Night One my thoughts went to what is next for Brock lesnar. As you guys will know I’m not the biggest fan of Lesnar these days, due to the fact he’s got a very chequered past. The talk of retirement is something that isn’t new in Pro wrestling, and the conversation around Brock has been going on since WrestleMania this past April. I don’t think that Brock is going anywhere, because this didn’t look like the stereotypical way that TKO would walk someone out of WWE. I’ve got no interest in Watching Brock, but that doesn’t mean that I speak for all fans. Were all different, and that’s great.

Super Arrivals.

Dirty Dom. Lash Legend, and. Trick Williams. Baron Corbin. Roman reigns, and Danhausen arrived. WWE should licence there own ice cream trucks.

WWE No1 Contenders Match For The Undisputed Championship.

This was a pleasant uplifting suprise. B efore the Match could get started. Nick Aldis came to the stage, and told both Finn Balor, and Sami Zayn, that this now a triple threat Match. So out came Gunther, but that wasn’t all, because then told us that he had another suprise, and that’s when a returning Kevin Owens. This was monumental, and very life affirming for Kevin, because he’s coming back after spending nearly 18 months on the sidelines with a broken neck. On the back of Kevins shirt read the words. Fight Owens Fight. These are words to live by, as he faced his best friend in Sami Zayn in a nice throwback. This wasn’t just to bring back Kevin Owens. It was a way of looking at the future. Gunther vs Kevin Owens, and Finn Balor vs Kevin Owens both have nice rings to them. The Match lasted 9 minutes, and it was a roundabout of greatest hits for everyone involved. KO got the win, and will now have a future date with Cm Punk.

Trick Williams vs Baron Corbin WWE United States Championship.

This Match did nothing for me. It was predictable. Boring, and lazily booked. We’ve got a new WWE United States Champion, and his name is Baron Corbin. This had one of the worst finishes to any Match on the card, but at least Lil Yachty went through a table, which was funny.

WWE Ladder Match For The Womens Interim Championship.

With a Ladder Match featuring thew likes of. Chelsea Green. Charlotte Flair. Tiffany Stratton. Lash Legend, and. Jade cargill, I would expect high octane moments, and solid storytelling, and in this Match i got both. With Rhea Ripley out injured for a forceable amount of time. WWE have been put in a bind, so they went down the UFC path. This a clear indication that TKO are getting involved in WWE creative, and this is a problem. The Match however was fantastic. It was filled with drama, and was a touching reminder to hold your loved ones close. Charlotte Flair deicated the Match to a fan called Scarlett who sadly passed away from Cancer one month ago. Lash Legend, and. Tiffany Stratton, had a good showing, whilst Jade Cargill, had a misfire of a Match, complete with a botch after she threw Charlotte arm first into a ladder. Michin, and. Bfab, then came out to help Jade. Chelsea was left in an upside down state hanging on the ladder. This would start off a chain of events, that would bring the Match to a close. Chelsea got the win, and this was well deserved.

Human Monies On A Pole Match.

What can I say about this Match, other than it was completely stupid. Well that’s just it. It was a thing that was completely stupid. Just give this a watch for yourself, and you will see what i’m on about. Danhausen got the win and then shared his new found stolen wealth with the fans, and Michael Cole, and Wade Barrett. I love Danhausen, but this was too much.

WWE Mens Intercontinental Championship Chad Gable vs Penta.

This Match was awesome. It lasted for only 9 minutes according to X, but it what both men packed into that 9 minutes that left me feeling astounded. When this Match got confirmed I knew that this would be my Match of the weekend, and it didn’t disapoint. Both Penta and chad used the minutes they had been given, and just like that they were painting on there own canvas, and the result was great. His name is Chad Gable, and he’s our new WWE Intercontinental Champion. Chad celebrated with his family, as his home state celebrated his name. This was excellent. Do WWE know they have on there hands with Chad?

Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins WWE Heavyweight Championship.

Let me set the scene. In the UK the time was 1.35am in the morning and I was putting my finger in the air acknowledging my Tribal Chief. This Match failed to deliver on the drama aspect, whilst the physicality remained at a high level. The mindgames started from the word go as the words sierra tango played out over the stadiums pa system. I get why some fans liked this, but this just wasn’t for me. This would be a problem as the Match went on into it’s final stages. REoman got the win, and Seth was made to acknowledge My Tribal Chief, as they put there hands together, as the show wen t off the air.

Overview Of WWE Summerslam Night Two.

With WWE PLE’s going the way that they’re by todays standards, this weekend action has been very good, and a reminder that the ads shouldn’t dominate the airtime, however WWE do have a problem. Attendence. Night One drew 36.000 fans, whilst Sunday Night drew 33.000 fans, this was a massive letdown when you take in the fact that this is down from last years. WWE/TKO need to take a solid look at how they handle ticket issues/sales, because this problem won’t go away anytime soon.
