Intro.

I’ve stated this many times before when it comes to my love of WWE/AEW/TNA/UFC, but this is my favourite time of the year, however this doesn’t mean that all fans will agree with me. The UFC is a great example of this, fans tend to slate fight cards more in this time of year, however I stand on the side of wait and see what happens. TNA is starting to go into the route for their biggest PPV of the year Bound For Glory. AEW has All In this weekend ( Which I will be attending ). WWE has many different plates spinning at the moment, and I’ve got to say it, i’m enjoying elements of the product, however the UFC PPV’s, and. Fight Night cards, after coming off the back of last weekends ropey Co Main Event, and. Main Event, this fight Night needed to deliver, so the big question is this. Did it do just that, well lets take a read, and I will give you my thoughts.

Anthony Wints vs Terrance Chatman. UFC Heavyweight Division.

This fight was over before it could even begin properly. Wints was coming the back of a win on dana Whites contender Series, just 11 days previous to this fight, in which he got the win by knocking out his opponent. Terrance Chatman was no substitute for Wints, as the man who won a UFC Contract in quick successsion. wints got the win by chokehold, however I would’ve liked to have seen more of his stand up. If the UFC book this man right, then they could have a beast on there hands. The fight never made it out of the 1st round.

Carli Judice vs Jeisle Chaves. UFC Womens Flyweight Division.

Seeing fighters come up in the UFC fighter rankings is an imprtant thing, especially when you take a look at the Fighter Rankings for the womens Straw weight division, and who could be next to fight for Valentina Schevchenko’s crown. Judice vs Chaves acted liked a quick reminder for just what a good kick to the body can do. Judice folded Chaves like a lawnchair, and it was by far my performance of the night, and deserving of any win bonuses. I like Doughnuts too, maybe a little too much if you talk to my mum. This fight never got out of the first two minutes.

Marquel Mederos vs Mason Jones UFC Lightweight Division

This fight should act as a lesson to those who think that fighter has won the fight after the 1st round. The 1st round looked the real life version of rock’em sock’em robots, and this would play into the second round, After Mason got the best of the exchanges, however this would change. Marquels corner could be heard saying to him to loosen his hands, this exactly what he did. He knocked Mason out whilst he was still standing. This fight was awesome, and a superb look at the stand up game.

Reinier De Ridder vs Roman Dolidze UFC Light Heavyweight Division.

This was a onesided beatdown, as De Ridder got the win, in both fighters Light Heavyweight Debut. De Ridder was highly emotional in his post fight interview with Michael Bisping, due to how long he’s been away from his kids. Frank Trigg is a referee now. I know what words were going through his head. Curse you Matt Hughes. I remember watching him face Hughes when I was 18 years old. I’m now 39. I feel old.

Serghei Spivac vs Vitor Petrino UFC Heavyweight Championship.

I like the focus that the UFC gave to the Heavyweight Division. It feels like it has been a minute since this has happened. This fight was a three round war that saw both men work both styles of stand up, and groundwork, however in the early stages both couldn’t figure each other out, which made the fight look disjointed. I’m a believer that if you’re going to win by decision, then you shouldn’t make it look obvious. This felt like both fighters were hunting for points, and not for the win. Serghei got the win. by unanamous decision.

Gregory Rodrigues vs Anthony Fluffy Hernandes. UFC Middleweight Division.

This fight I was highly critical of when I watched this last night. This was a five round fight, that took the shape of who wants it more, however I didn’t get that feeling from Fluffy Hernandes. Felt like he was walking his way through fight, as Rodrigues poured on the pressure throughout the 1st and second round. He did have a better 3rd round, and in the fourth he started to look a bit more spritely, however it was too little too late, as the 5th round saw Gregory Rodrigues pull away, and get the win by decision. This was a disapointing performance from Fluffy Hernandes, and it showed that he oisn’t ready to face Sean Strickland for the UFC Middleweight Championship anytime soon. Gregory Rodrigues however is prime for a title shot in a few ffights time of the back of what I saw, he looked great, as he silenced the Sacramento native. Thye fans were on good voice throughout the show last Saturday. I love Sacrementos energy. If I could bottle it up, and sell it, then I would become a millionaire.

Overview Of UFC Fight Night Sacramento.

This for my money is one of the best UFC cards of late and one that I enjoyed, however the main event, and co main did lag a bit, which was a bit distracting, but this didn’t stop my enjoyment of the show.

UFC Fight Night Sacramento Comes reccomended with a high 8/10.
