Intro. Censorship.
Over the past few weeks I’ve noticed a major change ion how WWE pressent it’s TV Shows. Censorship has been a thing since as long as I can remember. I grew up in a time when the bbfc here in the would act as the overall governing boby in film/tv decentcy, which they still do to this day, but when I was growing up, you could tell which films have had the scissors taken to them. Some of my favourite were the victims of this act, whilst others were outright banned, for example. My favourite film is A Clockwork Orange, a film that was removed from Public view because of fears of copycat violence by it’s own Director Stanley Kubrick, whilst Adel ferreiras The Driller Killer was outright banned as part of the 1993 video nasties act. Now I know what some of you might be thinking, why am I bringing this up. This is because WWE seem to be censoring a lot of there shows at the minute. This seems to baffling a lot of fans at the minute, however if you ask me I think that there only trying to stay in line with guidelines in other territories.
WWE Superstar Arrivals.
Chad Gable. Sol Ruca, and Oba Femi, were all seen showing up to the arena, all showing up would have a great evening.
Stephanie Vaquer segment.
I didn’t like this. Stephanie walked out to the ring, and instantly called out Liv Morgan. It’s not been a secret that I haven’t been a big fan of liv Morgans Title run, It’s been one of WWE’s biggest disapointments of this year, it’s been poorly booked, and it’s been lacklustre. Livs part of the segment ran like a spoilt brat trying to learn there lines for a school play. This isn’t livs fault. It’s the fault of the team doing the booking. She led an attack on Stephanie Vaquer, which led Becky Lynch to make the save. This was pathetic.
The Bloodline Segment.
Solo Sikoa turned with his brothers Jimmy, and Jey Uso, and he looked so disinterested, and so did LA Knight. More on these two later on. This would be an episode long storythread.
JD Mcdonagh vs Jevon Evans.
I liked this, mainly because it came directly after a flash advert here in the UK, because of corporate stuff. The match however felt like a brisk stroll through an easy Match. Jevon got the win, and than stood up for himself when facing Big Cass.
Rey Fenix vs El Fiscal WWE Championship No1 Contenders Tournament.
I’m starting to enjoy this WWE No1 Contenders Tournament. The usage of Mexican stars from AAA is a piece of devine booking. This is the perfect example of that. This pulled on Reys History in the mexican promotion, and it was clear to see because he was working with a younger talent. El Fiscal has been highly praised in Mexico, and I could see why. This Match was the definition of Mexican flare, because Fenix got the win, and advances to the next round.
Bron Breakker And Oba Femi Segment.
This was one of the highlights of the show in my opinion. Bron Breakker has peported by Wrestlepurists to be frustrated with his booking within WWE, and how he’s perceived. I think him splitting from The Vision is going to come sooner rather than later. Bron walked out, and was met by Paul Heyman. Paul was used as the anchor for the segment, and as he guided the fans through this story. Bron Breakker asked the question who is the future of WWE. This was when Oba Femi came out, and just like that this segment came to life. This was awesome, and a fantastic look at how the future is going to look. Both men will face each other on Sunday nme.
Dragon Lee vs El Dr Wagner Jnr. WWE No1 Contenders Match.
Dragon Lee, beat Dr wagner Jnr in what was another solid TV outing for this tournament. I’m predicting a Penta vs rey fenix final, now that sounds mouthwatering.
Rey Mysterio vs Chad Gable WWE Intercontinental Championship.
This was no notes excellent. I loved this Match, on a show that was very Pro Wrestling heavy, this stood out as The Match of the night, and it was the perfect balance of styles. Rey retained. I loved this.
The Bloodline Segment. Jey Delivers Solo Sikoa To Roman Reigns.
I can’t say two much about this segment, other than it was poor cinema. Just go out of your way to check this out. This was Gold. Solo isn’t part of The Bloodline, and Jacob is the unsung hero of this segment. Great stuff from everyone involved.
Overview Of Monday Night Raw.
This weeks WWE Monday Night Raw felt like a back basics look at how to book a Pro Wrestling show. The promos went from poor to sensational, and the in ring work fell into the same pattern.
This weeks WWE Monday night Raw is 8/10.
